Kyle Knudsen - Outdoor Pursuits and Community Service

A resident of San Diego, Kyle Knudsen has numerous personal interests, including volunteering in his community. Among his community service involvement, Kyle Knudsen volunteered from 2016 to 2020 at the Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Mr. Knudsen’s role at the center included caring for animals awaiting adoption and socializing them to improve their interactions with people and other animals. He was also responsible for walking and exercising the animals, cleaning dog kennels, and supporting the staff and technicians. In addition to his experience with the Helen Woodward Animal Center, Mr. Knudsen regularly picks up litter on the beach on his walks with his dog.

Besides volunteering, Mr. Knudsen’s hobbies are camping, backpacking, stand-up paddleboarding, fly fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and road tripping to snowboarding destinations and the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. He has successfully climbed Mount Whitney and whitewater rafted in Colorado’s Arkansas River. He is also interested in men’s fashion, mainly suits, and trying new restaurants.

Kyle Knudsen is a member of the Chico State Alumni Association, the Theta Chi Alumni Association, and the Eastern Sierra Hiking and Backpacking Group. He holds a Basic Safety & Survival Certification, an American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Certificate, a Basic Map & Compass Skills Certificate, and life-saving certifications in Basic Life Support, Emergency Oxygen Administration, Advanced Bleeding Control, and Epi-Pen Administration.
